The music of garbage, dark, moody, attacking, scary and beautiful really inspired my book from the beginning. Especially the lead singer Shriley Manson who was the original model of my female lead.

After reading Frank Miller's amazing first SIN CITY trade paper back, I finally had the okay to do the kinda book I always wanted, a dark, realistic, cinematic pulp crime saga. Read 'em all.

Of course James O' Barr's dark, B & W comic and it's movie adaptation inspired the look, feel and tone of my book. This is one of the best stories coming from the comic book world.

This book really inspired the LOOK of the artwork in my books. SInce B & W was affordable and I was doing a noirish pulp story, it seemed fitting to give the book the look of an old 30's & 40's noir.

Of course doing a story about the ending of the world requires biblical input and the Bible has played a major part in the writing of this saga.

All of Tarantino's film inspired my writing but it was Reservoir Dogs that first hit me and showed me the importance of dialogue. Dogs is a tough film, Kill Bill has been a recent influence.

Quinnell's novel is so gritty and awesome and it really makes me mad that the other John Creasy books are out of print in the US. Great revenge tale.

Sergio Leone's westerns have all played a part in my style of scenes and shots, none more than this masterpeice.

How could I do pulp fiction without the influence of Spillane, his Mike Hammer novels are so dark, gritty and unforgiving.

The character of Travis Bickle and his tale of complete alienation and disgust of the world really reflected the way I felt at the time of creating the book. One of my favorite films.

I always said that to film my book would be to film an episode of The Sopranos...none of that Matrix crap...real. Sorpanos is marvelous.

To me, the greatest story ever told. Drama, action, comedy, suspense...it has it all, I tried to include the same in my own.
