I've twice used my car fire extinguisher. I keep it in the back of the car, under the floor of the way-back in my station wagon. I know some folks insist on it being within reach of the driver though. Either way, make sure it's secured, you don't want something heavy and metal like that flying around.

This lives on top of the spare tire. It's only been used in camping situations rather than emergency ones.

For winter use only. I generally would only put this in the car (along with a propane cylinder or two) for long car trips in the winter. Works amazingly well to keep tents or small cabins warm as well.
