Save time and money - skip this product
I actually tried two of these and sent them both back for a refund, and thanks to Amazon.com for the efficient manner in which these two transactions were handled. The reason(s) for my disatisfaction with the Foci product was that both of them were deffective and would not function properly. In the case of the first, a couple of the teeny-tiny terminal pins were mis-aligned, while the second one seemed to have a software glitch and would unfailingly generate an error message instead of unloading the inserted flash card. I will in the future be acquiring a picture safe, but it won't be this one.

very good for vacationing
I bought the earlier version of this Digital Foci Photo Safe and enjoyed it. I am giving it to my brother since I bought this new version.

I took this Digital Foci PST-251 Photo Safe II 160GB Digital Picture Storage when I went on a cruise to Alaska. I take my photos in RAW so they take up a lot of space on my CF cards. It saved all of my photos for me to download when I got home. It is compact and light for traveling.

I also use my Digital Foci when visiting friends. I can upload their SD card photos and then download them to my computer. I don't have a laptop so this is a great solution. I will always take it on vacations.

Save your money, shop around!
I purchased this product about a month ago and it worked GREAT. I constantly shoot in RAW so a product like this is a must. Just not this product. I used it three times and it was toast. The slot where you slide your CF card into is very shallow so if you do not line it up exactly perfect when you put your card in, you will bend the pins inside and then you just turned it into an electrical paper weight because that's all its good for now. If you do decide to buy this item, keep your receipt! You just may find yourself returning it!
