From the Manufacturer
Created in the UK, over a two-year collaboration between former Bliss spa-entrepreneur Marcia Kilgore, Biomechanist Dr. David Cook and a team of untiring footwear engineers, FitFlops were initially designed to help modern women squeeze a little more exercise into their increasingly hectic schedules."I thought, how amazing if I could invent something that would help fight the onset of cellulite while I'm walking to the office," says Kilgore. "I work. I have kids. I have a husband. And the likelihood of me seeing the inside of a gym in the next ten years is slim to none. That said, I'd obviously prefer to go with slim." Kilgore found Dr. Cook at The Centre for Human Performance at London's LSBU, where he envisioned injecting the patent-pending 'microwobbleboard' technology into the midsole of the function-forward flip flop. Slightly destabilizing, FitFlops feature three distinct densities of EVA foam in a single-fused underfoot piece, to challenge your muscles more every time you step - to deliver a workout while you walk.
Customer Reviews
Shoes too short
I have owned three pairs of FitFlop Walkstar sandals, and loved them dearly. I walked my first pair, the red ones, to death. These are, without question, the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. Because I loved the sandals so much, I recently purchased the Gogh Clog without having a chance to try them on. Even though they are supposed to be the same size as my sandals, the soles are an inch shorter than the soles of my thongs. The clogs have a roomy toe box and are great except for the fact that my heel hangs over the end of the shoe. Uncomfortable and disappointing. Don't order this style unless you have a chance to try it on first.
awesome
I love these shoes! while I have not noticed that I can, indeed, 'skip the gym' I have experienced a remarkable drop in both lower and upper back pain when I wear them. I even did a test and wore another pair of shoes for a few days and - yes, these shoes actually make a difference for me. I have a pair of summer slides that I love and have worn all summer. I ordered the clog in Black for the winter, and I'm ordering the brown as well - I love them that much. One note, the fit of the clog is slightly smaller then the sandal - I wore a 7 in the sandal, but and 8 in the clog.
Cushy, comfy, easy on the stride
I love these shoes. I don't know about the muscle conditioning ...... but the cushioning sure helps my lower back problems. I have the original FitFlops for summer and decided to try these because I noticed my back was hurting a lot and it had been a while since sandal season. I read in another review somewhere that a customer's back felt a lot better, so it made sense to try these. My feet are wide and these are roomy and very comfy. Will be getting more of the sandals for the summer this year.
