Editorial Reviews

Review
I don't say this lightly: Mouse Guard is perfect. There are no flaws in plot, character, design, color, narration, or world building. This is a must read for any fan of high fantasy. It s also a must read for lovers of great comics in general. This was such a rewarding reading experience that I m sad I have to wait until next year for the new story arc. I look forward to visiting this world again and spending more time with these incredible mice. --Ed Sizemore, Comics Worth Reading

While Winter 1152 is a darker tome, it is still a great all ages read. Not merely for kids, Mouse Guard is an example of what comics can achieve at its best and most accomplished. Hopefully, The Black Axe - the next chapter - will see us still in the very early stages of a long epic. --Lee Newman, Broken Frontier

Customer Reviews

Petersen does it again!5
I loved Mouse Guard Fall 1152, and was almost worried that the next volume might drop the ball, but David Petersen has outdone himself with his amazing art and story telling abilities. In this volume we see Lieam, the youngest of the Guard, really come into his own. After how much he'd done to prove his worth in the first volume by taking on a snake, he shows off that nothing is too big for a mouse. "It doesn't matter what you fight, but what you fight for." I give this book 5 stars only because there's no way to give it more. David Petersen is a master of his trade. Buy it now, if you already have Fall 1152. If not, buy them both now.

Worthy Sequel5
This is a worthy sequel to the first Mouse Guard in that it maintains the charm and themes of honor and courage, while upping the ante in character depth and artistic beauty. My favorite aspect is the fact that despite their inherent cuteness, the mice are serious characters with practical goals and fiery hearts. The story shows the many dangers that such a tiny race faces during a harsh winter and takes you on a ride through some truly legendary locales. This is a book to be cherished for adventurers of any age.

As good, if not better, than Fall 1152.5
Another Mice masterpiece. Artwork continues to be amazing, and the story pulls you further into the mouse world. I cannot wait for more material.
