Customer Reviews
Quick wall relase is nice, but unit sags too much
I purchased one of these units to mount my 23" LCD TV on the wall in my kitchen. The price was great considering the extension and flexability of the mount, but I don't think I would buy it again. My two main concerns include:
1) The overall stiffness of this unit is very poor. It sags significantly under the weight of my 23" TV, and wobbles quite a bit if you push on the TV. I wound up placing a wooden wedge between the mount and the wall to compensate for the sag, so the TV would be level (left to right).
2) The vertical angle adjustment (how much the front of the TV faces up or down) uses detents that are way too coarse. Again, because of the sag, the face of my TV wound up pointing slightly downwards. I tried to adjust it to be level (in the front-to-back direction), but the next detent made the TV point way to far upwards. So I'm just living with it pointing slightly downwards. More expensive mounts that I've seen have a continuous adjustment for this (no detents).
I kept the unit because I occasionally move the TV, and I really liked the quick release on the wall, but if I had to do it again I think I'd go with a stronger mount.
Sounded like a good idea
I though the EasyMount Pan/Tilt/Extend would give me more freedom than other mounts but I found any small mis-adjustment in the wall mount would be accentuated on the screen itself. That includes the fact that the mount moves slightly on the wall bracket and that the mount is not 100% perfectly aligned in everywhere position you move it. The bottom line - my screen eventually ended up level after I positioned the bracket twice, pulled and tugged the mount, sqeezed a little adjustment on the mounting attachment to the screen etc. I was fortunate, you might not be! I just tell the family to NEVER! move the screen.
It was a shame, a good idea and a good price but I should have listened to the other review warnings. The only thing - it seems to be keeping the screen in one place. but I did tighten everything VERY tight.
I suggest getting a mount that has at least 3 wall mounting screws and is as short as possible for your needs and has as few moving links as possible. Or else get one that you can adjust the screen independently - don't rely on having to get the wall mount level.
Perfect Fit
This is great product. It was the simplest thing I have ever installed. However the "free" stud finder is worthless. Go buy a real one, you will use it over and over. Very impressed on the adjustability of the mount and I like the cord hook to keep everything organized. The kit came with every possible option of hardware for the installation. I went out and bought its big brother for my 32" LCD in our bedroom.
