Renaissance Turn The Cards
1974's "Turn Of The Cards" was the fifth Renaissance album, and once again, it's a masterpiece of classical/prog rock. Once more, the band's music is magically lush, sweeping and magnificent, with Annie Haslam's goddess-like voice leading the way. All six songs, "Running Hard," "I Think Of You," "Things I Don't Understand," "Black Flame," "Cold Is Being," and "Mother Russia" are outstanding, played and sung to perfection by Haslam, guitarist Michael Dunford, keyboardist John Tout, bassist Jon Camp, and drummer Terry Sullivan. I'll say it again: Renaissance were---and are---a phenomenal band who deserved a much bigger worldwide audience then what they had. Their music is that good. "Turn Of The Cards" is another brilliant album from Renaissance.
Real music lasts forever.
Nothing new to say here. If you like prog rock with a touch of classical/magical/psychedelic and performed by real musicians and one incredible voiced lady, then this and Scheharazade need to be your next music purchases. Also, one of my favorite album covers of all time.
Thank you, Repertoire Records.
No outtakes or lyrics included.
Renassaince at their best
This cd has very special both music and lyrics . Annie really gets into the spiritual beauty that anyone who is familiar with Renassaince
has come to know . Parts of this music has brought tears of happiness and I would recommend it to those seeking magic music.
Not all of it is happy yet the parts that are , make it worth getting
I am a Renassaince fan from way back and would not be without this special piece of time
