The April 2001 edition of Plane& Pilot referred to it as “general aviation’s version of the Zagat Guide”. The book’s companion website clocks over 450,000 site visits per month. Each week it receives 50 to 100 updates (PIREPs) from our pilot readers. These PIREPs affect over 80% of the sites reported on in the book. New restaurants have opened, some restaurants and even some airports have closed. Today only twenty percent of the data from the current edition is fully accurate. The new edition will feature over 80% new content – new restaurants, new airports, and completely updated reports on both from pilots all over the US, Canada, and the UK.

Very Good Guide but needs some updating.
I purchased this book about 6 months ago and have been able to use it when flying all over Florida with my wife. Several of the cafe's have changed names but were well worth visiting. The only drawback is a lack of directions at most fields exept "ask ground, they will give you progressive taxi to the parking area". This is fine for a small airport but is inconvient for a large airport and sometimes does not work at all, especially with CTAF. I have also used the book in my travels throughout the US and it has come in hady on several occasions. In all, a good guide.

Where do you want to fly for lunch?
A LONG OVER-DUE COVERAGE OF THOSE PLACES A PRIVATE PILOT CAN GO FOR A SNACK (MEAL) ON A LOVELY VFR DAY IN THE SUMMER. NO ONE HAS ACCOMPLISHED THIS BEFORE AND IT WILL CERTAINLY ENCOURAGE THOSE WHO DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO ON A BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY TO GAS UP AND HEAD OUT!!! GREAT FOR THE PRIVATE PILOT LOKING FOR A GASTRONOMIC DESTINATION.I RATE IT FOUR HAMBURGERS.

Good Reference Guide
Despite the fact that this book is somewhat out-of-date at thispoint, it remains a good reference guide. I use it as an encyclopediaof airport restaurants. Not only do the entries give information aboutwhere the airport is loacted and what kind of food to expect, theyoften list prices and approach notes, which are invaluable totransient pilots. Some of the information is dated, but for the mostpart, its still useful. So I keep it in my flight bag for those timeswhen I'm looking for a rest stop on the way home from a distantairport.

It would be great to have it updated and published as abinder with removable pages, so that pilots can subscribe to receiveupdates (like every other airport guide)...
