Soon after the cats reached their new home by the lake, ThunderClan's medicine cat Leafpool received an ominous warning from StarClan: Before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red. As the Clan slowly recovers from a devastating badger attack, Leafpool can't help but wonder . . . do her prophetic dreams mean there are even worse dangers still in store for the warrior cats?
At the same time, shadows of the past continue to haunt the forest as some old friends struggle to find their place, others appear to be lost forever, and an old enemy finds a new way to resurface in a quest for dark revenge. A sinister path is unfolding, and the time is coming for certain warriors to make the choices that will determine their destiny . . . and the destiny of all the Clans.

From Booklist
In the seventh book in the popular Warriors: The New Prophecy series, evil lurks in the form of Firestar’s dead enemy, Tigerstar. He walks in the dark place, plotting Firestar’s death and the assumption of power by his own sons. One of Tigerstar’s sons is Brambleclaw, now Firestar’s good friend; the other is Hawkfrost, who shares his father’s hatred. Will Brambleclaw turn on his friend? As series fans will expect, the action here proves as compelling as the relationships between cats and the dynamics among the clans. Grades 6-9. --Sally Estes
About the Author
Erin Hunter is inspired by a love of cats and a fascination with the ferocity of the natural world. As well as having a great respect for nature in all its forms, Erin enjoys creating rich mythical explanations for animal behavior, shaped by her interest in astrology and standing stones.
From AudioFile
The clan of cats called Thunderclan settles into their new home on a lake, and their medicine cat, Leafpool, tries to help them all stick together as jealousies and struggles for position complicate their relationships. As this final book of the series ties together loose ends and settles old scores, listeners will find that a familiarity with the prior books in the series might be helpful. Nanette Savard brings out the youth of the cats who are struggling to help their clan survive and to protect each other from outside danger. In a narration that plays to the young people who likely comprise the primary audience, she moves the story along at a good pace and draws out the suspense and danger. AMAZING
Wow, this book was wonderful! I spent the day reading it, and the ending was the best part. WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS ARE CONTAINED IN THE REVIEW
Leafpool seems to have given up on Crowfeather. She has a new job to be part-time mentor of RiverClan's medicine cat apprentice
Brambleclaw has shown whose side he is on. He became deputy to Firestar, when Firestar realized Graystripe was dead(He isn't, but ah well, can't tell the cats that ;) ) He had a hunger for power during the whole book, but it didn't bother him at the end, where he had the choice to kill Firestar to be leader, but he doesn't, and kills his brother instead. Exciting! But the poor cat is left with horror at the end.
Cinderpelt in fact has not died, but has been "reincarnated" in one of Sorreltail's kits. Creepy, but nice, the wonderful cat is still alive!
I guess even the author that kills all the "cute cats" (if you read the innterview you'd understand) couldn't give her up for good. xD
Ashfur was horribly bitter about the Squirrelflight/Brambleclaw relationship. Which leads me to believe he was responsible for the treachury caused at the end of the book. Which is sad, cuzhe was cool in the 5th book.
From the sample chapter for "The Sight" at the end of the book. It refers that the "kin of the kin" is reffered to Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw's three kits, that they apparently had during the six month period betwen the book. (Their names are Hollypaw, Lionpaw, and Jaypaw) And they are apparently prophecied to have great power)
That's it, I guess. VERY GOOD BOOK! I reccomend reading it even if you saw all the main parts of this review.
Better Than Expected
The sixth installment of Warriors: The New Prophecy #6: Sunset, was much better than I expected. Sunset included many different subplots and old charecters not brought up in Twighlight that completed the New Prophecy. Tigerstar was eager to get revenge on Firestar through his kits and was able to walk in their dreams to convince them power is everything. In the end, when Brambleclaw is given the chance to kill Firestar, he shows to waiting readers where his loyalties truly lie. As for Firestars kits, Squirrleflight makes her decision on the cat that she wishes would be her mate and Leafpaw deals with the troubles of her friend Mothwing and her new apprentice Willowpaw. The new series of Warriors, The Power Of Three, looks very good and I can't wait!
the 6th NP book!!! by Wildfur
OMG!!! i heart it x100!
after the badger attack, leafpool decides to help mothwing mentor her apprentice willowpaw because mothwing doesnt believe in StarClan. later, spottedleaf shows leafpool a terrible secret about mothwing and hawkfrost, convincing leafpool that for sure hawkfrost cannot be trusted. meanwhile squirrelflight and brambleclaw rekindle their- er, relationship leaving ashfur incredibly bitter. also cloudtail spends tons of time with daisy and her kits, making brightheart sad and leafpool and brambleclaw get mad. o and one of sorreltail's kits looks exactly like cinderpelt! amazingg firestar also accepts that graystripe is dead and appoints brambleclaw as deputy! and at the very end, brambleclaw is given an opportunity (by tigerstar and hawkfrost) to kill firestar and become thunderclan's leader. so brambleclaw has to choose between loyalty and ambition, just like tigerstar, except tigerstar chose ambition. wat will brambleclaw choose? and the ominous prophecy "before there is peace, blood will spill blood, and the lake will run red" is fullfilled. its also sort of an abrupt ending, so.. we'll have to wait for the new series Power of Three! then we'll find out wat tigerstar's spirit does to brambleclaw and the destiny of brambleclaws and squirrelflights children jaypaw hollypaw and lionpaw
