Customer Reviews

Excellent book!5
Excellent book! Should be mandatory reading for all individuals. It not only gives very clear quidance on Managment, it also delivers basic but very important messages on communication with an emphasis on the importance of listening. Will benefit just about anyone from the sole proprietor to the CEO responsible for thousands.

A Horrendous Sin Against Academia1
I was assigned this textbook for a 100-level Management course, and it covers - predictably - the introductory and foundational material appropriate to a management course.

What I quickly found, however, is that the book is written terribly inarticulately and inaccurately. On page 8 alone - the first page which actually has a lengthy text passage, rather than inane and overly obvious descriptions of management's job ("Decision Making") - four out of five paragraphs contained at least one egregious error. The fifth paragraph was an anecdote.

This was, unfortunately, not unique to page 8.

What I find horrifying is that elsewhere the book covers material that I do not already know, and therefore must take at face value. However, judging by the material which I already knew, the book is so thoroughly riddled with errors and inconsistencies that one can not possibly use this as a source of information and expect to be competitive with the rest of the marketplace.

Stay away from this book as though your grade and/or career depend on it. Because they may.

Relates to Business World5
It's amazing how much the chapters relate to the REAL Business world. Many times while reading, I would start thinking about a situation at work.I would love to recommend it to our Executive Staff and HR department.
