About the Author

SUSAN GRAZIANO SLOAN is an Advisory Software Engineer at IBM Silicon Valley Laboratory, San Jose, CA, where DB2 UDB for z/OS is developed. She has been team lead of the DB2 UDB for z/OS writing team since 2001, when she co-authored An Introduction to DB2 for OS/390, which earned a Merit Award in the Society for Technical Communication's Northern California competition.

This book is a good primer for anyone who is just beginning to work with DB2 for z/OS. It covers all the basic concepts well, however if you are looking for a detailed reference book, this is too basic.

A great introduction...5
This book is a great introduction to a very complex product and subject. There is so much more to learn about DB2 on the z/OS platform, but this book does a fine job of getting you started.
