I LUV FLAMBARDS!!!!
Flambards is the first book in the series, and my second favourite, my favourite being The Edge of the Cloud. In this book, Christina, an orphan, is dipatched, after years of being sent around the family, to Flambards, the home of her crotchety old uncle Russell, whose wife had died many years before, leaving him two children, William and Mark. Russell isn't a family favourite, and Christina is apprehensive about her new home, after overhearing a conversation between some of her other reletives, who think that Russell only wants Christina to keep house for him, so that Mark can marry her in a few years...
This book is facinating, and after getting the whole series for Christmas, i proceeded to sit and read the whole lot in a day, i was so interested!!!( much to the dismay of my mum, who had hoped that i would take at least a week to read them!) She wasn't disappointed, though, as i keep re-reaading them!!!
Fantastic Book!
I just finished Flambards and I am waiting for the sequels to arriv in the mail. Peyton is a wonderful author and if you have read her other books you will love this one too! Great for young horse lovers. Or old for that matter, I told my mother she had to read it.
