Deus Ex Machina
Not a bad ending to the series, but most certainly not a good one.
I give it 3 stars because compared to the other Mindwarp books, this one is the most mediocre. It's a blah way to end an otherwise entertaining series.
Notable Deus Ex Machina moments include:
1:Chris Archer writing himself into the book to talk about how he can't figure out how to end his Mindwarp series (in the book there is a Mindwarp series as well. Chris offers to dedicate the book to the person who can help him end it)
2:A bizarre reference to the 'Morphimals' (animorphs) in one of Chris's conversations about YA literature.
3: Even moreso than the other books, Time Travel does not make sense here. No sense at all. None. That's all I'm going to say about this.
4: The Omegas hit a new high in stupidity. I can't reveal more due to the spoilers, but you'll want to beat your disbelief into submission before leaving the Hospital scene.
A lot of loose ends were left untied in this ending. The book seems to have been written under immense pressure to pump out the tenth volume before Chris's target audience outgrew the series.
If you're a collector or just want to finish the series, I'd recommend this. If you're just in the mood for a casual read, however, it is simply not worth the stupid amount of cash you'll have to shell out for this out-of-print finale.
