Product Description

Mysteries followed reporter Merry Kramer everywhere. Case in point: On a morning jog one day, she discovered the body of a murdered woman. The small-town journalist had to find out who'd committed the horrible crime. And the more she dug, the more she realized that whoever was hiding the truth certainly wouldn't stop at one murder to protect it.

Merry knew she had to decide--and decide soon--whether finding the killer was worth risking her own life, as well as her future with a wonderful fiance.

Customer Reviews

great mystery4
I love this author and the characters in this book! I was sorry to come to the end of the series. I hope Gayle will write some more for that series. She has such a great way of making her characters real and easy to relate to. Many times the heroine's words and actions had me chuckling to myself.
I have loaned out the whole series to two other friends who devoured them quickly and were glad to have been introduced to Gayle Roper's writing.

Jogging Into Murder4
When Merry suddenly decides two weeks before her wedding to lose some weight, her co-worker Jolene decides they should be running together. While running on a path the next morning, they find the dead body of Martha Colby. Martha was an ex-boyfriend of Merry's boss Mac, and the evidence seems to be pointing to him as a suspect. But he is dating someone else now quite happily. He couldn't have murdered Martha, could he? Can Merry survive long enough to find out? Will she solve the case before her wedding?

I have loved these characters since they first appeared almost a decade ago, so when I found out there was a new mystery with them, I had to get it. And I did enjoy it. The characters are still warm and wonderful. I did find the plot pretty predictable, however. I had most everything figured out half way through. Still, I was having such a good time, I didn't care. In fact, I sped through the book much too quickly for my tastes.

This isn't the best book author Gayle Roper has written, but it is a fun series closer. If you have enjoyed Merry's previous adventures, you will be thrilled to visit her one more time.
