Kindergarten-Grade 4-This inviting collection of poems encourages children to think imaginatively about time. The overall tone is light and humorous, and the book even includes a limerick. Imaginative graphics distinguish some poems, including "Now Is a Narrow Place," with its text in the shape of an hourglass. The selections are particularly suited to being read aloud. Brightly colored illustrations feature a blue-haired elf and lively puppy. These charming characters unify the collection, but are perhaps a bit too cute. This book will be a valuable resource for teachers who want to make learning to tell time fun, and will give children something to ponder.

This collection of poems about time covers many facets of thisabstract subject with energy, humor, thought and fun. The livelylittle sprite-like figure dances her way through the pages and keeps children engaged. This book has inspired kids to write and illustrate their own poetry.
