Product Description

Fourth in the New York Times bestselling series known for "blistering sexuality and eroticism."(Romance Reviews Today)

Since he saw Janey Mackay taking a dip in her bikini, Major Alex Jansen has had to quell the fire she ignites in him. Even touching her would mean death at the hands of the Mackay men. Until now, the girl of his dreams-and fantasies-has lived in a vacuum of affection, shying away from the danger she thinks men represent. Alex sets out to prove her wrong, with his torturously slow caresses.

Everyone thinks Janey's safe now, with her abusers dead. But when someone starts leaving spine chilling notes, Alex won't rest until she's completely safe. And completely his-body and soul...

I struggled with this one....2
I struggled to finish this book. It seems I'm in the minority, but this was a frustrating read for me. The heroine was, well, stupid...and mean. Alex stayed at night to protect her and left during the day. Well, she thought it was because he didn't want to be seen with her. Uh, no he was trying to catch the bad guy! What even remotely struck her that Alex was the type of guy that would do that? He stood up for her in the very beginning of the book. Now he's embarrassed?? That just didn't make sense.

And in the whole book everyone seemed mean or angry all the time. Everyone was either snarling, growling, sneering or yelling. I've also always struggled with couples that were so attracted to each other physically, but don't seem to really like each other outside of the bedroom. I'm talking specifically about Janey. One minute she's snarling something at him, but he wants to have sex, oh she can't resist, let's do it. So they would have sex and then she wouldn't be angry anymore (until they moved out of the bedroom anyway). It seemed that every time they had sex, they were fighting beforehand. It shouldn't always be in anger.

Another irritant was that Janey was supposed to be so submissive to her father, yet she had no problem standing up to Alex and her brother. Okay, fine, I can see how that would make sense if she decided she didn't want to be pushed around anymore. Yet she was a doormat when people said nasty stuff to her at HER restaurant. Why wouldn't she stand up for herself there? It drove me nuts and distracted me from the story.

Overall this was a disappointment to me. I read the good reviews and was expecting more. I'm still looking forward to the next book and hopefully this is just a one time thing.

love the nauti boys!!5
As usual, Lora Leigh does it again. Gotta love those Nauti men. I absolutely love how the males in her stories are so incredibly in love and devoted to their women. As if they can't breathe with out them. Love it! Their arrogance cracks me up sometimes. Its comical how they try and control their mates sometimes and just fail. Although the plot was not all that complicated in this particular book, it still had some suspense and TONS of passion.

I like having the characters from previous and future stories involved in each book. Keeps us updated and also anticipating the upcoming stories. Looking forward to Zeke and Rogue's story. There's a fiery pair if I ever saw one!

Great story. Enjoy!!

Even Mackay in-laws are fun!5
A few months ago we left the Mackay brothers of Somerset finalizing the capture of the local terrorist Dayle Mackay, father to Natches, uncle to Rowdy and Dawg, and brother to Ray Mackay. Aside from Dayle's incestuous sister Nadine who falls to a sniper shot, the only casualty was 23-year-old Janey Mackay, Natches' baby sister, who had been drugged by her father and assaulted by her nasty Aunt Nadine and held hostage to prevent Natches from delivering the capture of Dayle, whom no one ever calls father, uncle or brother.

Now, Janey is healed, physically, and is running the local restaurant that Dayle, a surprisingly good cook for a really, really bad guy, ran as a money-laundering ploy for his now-defunct terrorist group. A target for mysterious poison pen attacks, Janey finds Alex Jansen her personal guard dog and wanna-be lover. Jansen, an older man, the sniper who did for nasty aunty, has craved the young woman since she was an off-limits tease at 17. Alex must to protect her from both the hidden attacks and the plot-required frequently unpleasant attitude of some of the townsfolk.

If you have read the previous Nauti books, the usual male heroes are all back, all testosterone-laden, and the previously-encountered peripheral folks also make, sometimes surprising, appearances. The three younger Mackay men are all married now and expectant fathers, which ups their control issues, natch.

The romance starts early, continues along predictable, yet enjoyable, paths, and the denouement, while not totally unexpected, does have some element of surprise. The book is another winner for Lora Leigh, an author who has several very different book concepts running concurrently, producing very well-plotted and hot novels, all of which are on my 'must buy immediately' lists.
