Good, but not distinguished first reader
The Littles are a family that lives in the house owned by the Biggs. The Biggs are normal sized and the Littles are all roughly the size of a mouse. Each of the Littles also has a tail that looks a lot like that of a mouse. When the Biggs go on vacation, their neighbor boy is supposed to feed their cat Hildy. However, he hasn't done so for a few days, so Hildy is hungry. Lucy and Tom take pity on Hildy and try to get into the refrigerator to get her cat food. They manage to open the door and get inside. However, just then the neighbor boy arrives to feed Hildy.
When he gets the cat food, Lucy and Tom are locked in the refrigerator and of course the light goes out. They think that they are trapped and begin to call for help. Fortunately, Mr. Little and Uncle Pete hear their cries and rescue them by prying the door open with a ruler. Lucy and Tom learn a lesson to never go in the refrigerator again.
While this book has many cute elements, it is not terribly distinguished. It is a good first reader book, but has no features that make it stand out over the others.
