WHEN AN EVIL GROUP TRIES TO TAKE CONTROL OF THE GREAT GA'HOOLE TREE, A FIERCE WAR BREAKS OUT IN THE OWL KINGDOM.
Soren's beloved mentor, Ezylryb, is finally back at the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. But all is not well. There's a war between good and evil in the owl kingdom. On one side is a group led by Soren's fearsome brother, Kludd, who wears a terrifying metal mask to cover his battle-scarred face. On the other side are the owls of the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, who must fight to protect their legendary home from Kludd's attacks.

An Exciting Read and Learn About Owl Behavior
Ms. Lasky does a great job with characterizing the many owls in the story, and the plot keeps the reader turning page after page. Yet all the while, she educates the reader on the natural behaviors of owls. Thus, the reader is thrusted into a great piece of fiction, but still learns factual information on these beautiful creatures. I also highly recommend reading the series from the beginning. Ages 9-12 will enjoy this book.
good
I really like this series. The author gives these owls such great personalities and makes you really care.
In this book, Ezlyryb is back and Kludd is mad. Soren and the "Clan of Clans" must go to the dreaded place of St. Aggies to find out weather St. Aggies and the Pure ones have joined forces. Also, The pure ones plan a major attact on the Great Tree.
Characters are developed more. Otulissa is becoming a lot more llikable, we see Twilight become a little more than war, and of course Soren (the main character) is developed more. My only problem is Eglantine, Soren's sister, is almost non-existant.
Yet another good book in this great series. I cant wait for the next one.
Suspenseful!
This is a detailed, fast paced novel that is really hard to put down. As you may have gleaned from what I titled this, It is a VERY suspenseful book involving murderous owls who think they are superior to all others, a pitiless "academy" trying to control all other owls, and the noble gaurdians of ga'hoole, trying to stop both crazed groups. Though I recommend you read them in order, Lasky catches you up on what happened in the other books. For all you owl lovers, this is definitely the book for you. Complete with sientific names, the character list at the back shows you the type of owls Soren and the other characters in the book are.
