Product Description

In this final book of the Legends trilogy Hoole reclaims the thrown of his father and goes on to wage a war against the forces of chaos, greed and oppression led by the powerful warlord-tyrants. Grank, the first collier, uses his skills with fire and metals to forge weapons for battle. With great trepidation Hoole uses the power of the Ember in the final, decisive battle and wins. At the dawn of a new ear of peace, Hoole searches for the ideal place to establish not a kingdom but an order of free owls and finds the Great Tree. (continued)

To Be A King Reviewed by: Soren5
The final legend. That's what To Be A King is. The final legend in the three that Soren, Coryn, the Band, & Otulissa have to read. In this book, they find a world of magic & chaos. Lord Arrin's forces of hagsfiends have split, forming other groups off nachtmagen. Rumors about a group of all hagsfiends led by Lord Arrin's old assassin, Ullryck, have been brought to the attention of the new King Hoole & Grank. They have just recently set up a new order called the Guardians of Ga'Hoole in the enormous tree which has come to be known as the Great Ga'Hoole Tree. There is also another rumor of a mad owl that has taken control of the Ice Palace in the N'yrthghar with his young hagsfiends. Soon, Hoole realizes, the forces of good will clash with the evil forces of nachtmagen. Hoole has the Ember, but to use it could be dangerous. So Hoole must make a choice-use the power of the Ember to restore the Ice Palace to it's former glory, or to let things go on without the strange, mysterious magic that is the Ember of Hoole.

So, along with the Band & Otulissa, Soren & Coryn read the final legend, and see what the future has in store for the Guardians of Ga'Hoole.

GUARDIANS OF GAHOOLE5
I BOUGHT THE BOOKS BY KATHRYN LASKY FOR MY FOURTEEN YEAR OLD GRANDAUGHTER. THE FIRST ONE WAS ON HER BOOK LIST FOR SUMMER READING. AS SOON AS SHE BEGAN TO READ IT SHE ASKED IF THERE WERE MORE BY THE SAME AUTHOR. AFTER I FOUND ALL THE OTHER BOOKS IN THE SERIES I ORDERED ALL OF THEM FOR HER CHRISTMAS PRESENT THAT YEAR. SHE SHARES THEM WITH HER COUSINS BOTH BOYS AND GIRLS. THE STORIES ARE INTERESTING, EXCITING AND WELL WRITTEN.

Guardians of Ga'hoole series5
I began to buy Kathryn Lasky's "Guardians" series for my 12 year old granddaughter trying to find something to spark her interest in reading. She really did not read for pleasure very much. This series and the "Warriors" series written by Erin Hunter have made a reader out of her. She can't wait until the next books come out! I am very thankful for this because I love books and the children today have so much TV and computer things to do, lots of them do not take time to read books.
