About the Author
Growing up in New Zealand, writer and photographer Nic Bishop was surrounded by science. His father is a biology teacher and a science writer and his mother worked as a scientist. Today, Bishop has written and photographed for more than 20 children’s books, and his science background has served as a basis for his extensive writing and photographic documentation of nature. Bishop doesn’t “try to make science interesting”; he “knows it’s already interesting, and just lets readers at it.” Nic Bishop and his wife live in Michigan, where he raises the insects, arachnids, and animals he photographs. Perfect for either reports or leisure learners
Nic Bishop's FROGS provides photos of big frogs and tiny ones and provides nearly fifty pages of frog facts, including a glossary and index. The blend of natural history and colorful frog photos makes for an outstanding presentation perfect for either reports or leisure learners.
Difference betweena toad and a frog
Thanks to this wonderful book my daughter knows the difference between a toad and a frog and so do I. This book is full of wonderful photography.I really like the larger bold print sentences which are intended for the younger children and attention spans. They learn quite a bit from them.
I recommend this book for any parent who has a child animal crazy like mine.
Spectacular
Perfect for my 8 year old daughter who is studying frogs in school, but mesmerizing for the rest of the family as well. Incredible photography, worth the purchase price for that alone, but good text as well. Thanks for an awesome book. I will be looking for more from this author.
