Should Be Entitled: A TRIBUTE TO CHUCK TRAYNOR2
I picked this paperback up at a local bookstore because of Marilyn's recent untimely death and it's not exactly what I expected. Namely I was looking for more insight into some of her more sensational sexual exploits such as her 21 guy gangbang given to her for her 21st birthday and especially about her 3 day sexual romp with the legendary Jim Brown at his home early in her career! Both of these are mentioned in another book & I was hoping that she'd elaborate on them but they're not even mentioned.

The book starts off of course with the film that made her famous Behind The Green Door by way of the Mitchell brothers. She goes into detail about her feelings on them and the filming/promotion of the movie as well as a lot of behind the scenes info too. She speaks respectfully but realistically about the Mitchells seeing as how at the time of the writing of the book she has at least two films out by them (Resurrection Of Eve being the other one). There are also tidbits about her family, her high school days, her first husband Doug, her start in the entertainment business and an in depth story of how she lost her virginity back in high school which reads like something we've all seen in numerous teen flicks. Interesting as well are the crazy sex letters from her fans near the end of the book which are amusing & even sad at times.

In my view most of the book is somewhat of a dedication if you will to her emerging manager/boyfriend and eventual husband the infamous Chuck Traynor. And while he is notorious in the way he treated first wife Linda Lovelace, he starts off by treating the much younger and more attractive Marilyn as a precious prize...or should I say a prize cash cow. Chuck is a shrewd business man to say the least and he even gets his own chapter in this book. Clearly he's already emerging as a force/love interest in her life that will be there long after their divorce in 1985 and until his death in 2002. Indeed the book was published not too long before their wedding in 1975 with Sammy Davis Jr. as the best man.

All in all to me it wasn't much of an "erotobiography" at all unless you have the hots for Chuck Traynor like Marilyn obviously did.
