Average customer review:Product Description
Compiled by the most influential authors in the field, CLASSICS OF ORGANIZATION THEORY is a collection of the most enduring works in organization theory. Designed for those new to the field, the text helps students grasp the important themes, perspectives, and theories of the field by describing what organization theory is, how it has developed, and how its development has coincided with developments in other fields. This text is not simply a retelling of the history of organization theory, its evolution is told through the words of the distinguished theorists themselves.

Customer Reviews
Delivers what it says....
I used this book (actually the 3rd edition) in preparing for my comprehensive exams for my master's degree. The title is descriptive. The book is short excerpts of key writings on the organization theory. The selection of readings is appropriate. The only complaint I have is that sometimes I wished I had the complete book in question! On the other hand, some of this stuff is really dry. If you are pursuing the field in an academic way, this is a valuable book. But I can't imagine reading it for enjoyment or idle curioisity.
Dense, but well worth the read
If you want to know what was, and how we got to where we are today, you'll get that with this book. I've been in public administration for about 10 years. It's providing me with some great ah-ha's.
great transaction
I received exactly what I was hoping for and it was delivered quickly. Highly recommend.
