Product Description

When the diffident and ineffectual Derek Mann loses his teaching job in a girls’ grammar school and drifts from one temporary post to another, one of his precocious pupils gives him her grandfather’s wartime diary with a mission to return to Apartheid South Africa and find the opal mine she believes to be her rightful inheritance. Intrigue and violence bedevil the quest, which ends in a desert under the Southern Cross. The wry, often laconic style gives full reign to the characters’ latent sexuality.

Excellent, Fantastic!5
Excellent, Fantastic!

I just got done reading "Wheel of Fortune" written by a very talented professor of English, Dr Charles Humphrey Muller.
Who is also a great editor of books, I know because he has edited 4 books of my own and did a fantastic job!
What can I say..I thought I read all of his books but I guess this one slipped by.. I received these two volumes of Wheel of Fortune from a very dear friend of mine who knows I love to read any of Charles's material..His books are very well written and keep you on the edge of your seat and this one is no different. What an imagination you have Charles!
I fell in love with Derek, and Jacquie is everyone's envy! I thought the book "Twist in Time" was the best book Charles wrote but I must say, this one comes in as being tied with the other. So much takes place in "Wheel of Fortune" and it didn't seem like I read two books so fast! I couldn't get enough of it... Derek and Jacquie were wonderful characters, so real and full of charisma and adventure! and many other characters in the book were outstanding!..Charles Muller made you feel like you were right in the book with all the thrills that were going on!.
Job well done Charles!.. an excellent read!

Great Book5
About 3 - 31/2 years ago I started to read books written by an author and editor, Mr. Charles Humphrey Muller. The books he wrote were so very well written, very interesting and very intriguing. I had a very hard time to decide which one I enjoyed reading the most.
In the last two weeks I have two more of his books. The Wheel of Fortune, volume's 1 & 2. After reading these two books I can now decide what I enjoyed reading the most. These two books were something else. You kept wondering what one of these characters were up to and wondering what was going to happen next. You had to finish the chapter so you could get to the next one. and in doing this, all my programs on TV, my house work, laundry and cooking the meals came last. The book came first! Even my poor husband got ignored.
Any one out there who wants to have a very good read, get these two volumes..you won't be sorry you invested the money or taking the time to read it. ..Mr. Muller, a great job, a great two books, volume 1 & 2....

A tour de force of sex and adventure!5
A novel of intrigue, adventure and explicit sexuality. An English teacher flees the threat of death across the world in the company of his provocative pupil.

When the diffident and ineffectual Derek Mann loses his teaching job in a girls' grammar school and drifts from one temporary post to another, one of his precocious pupils gives him her grandfather's wartime diary with a mission to return to Apartheid South Africa and find the opal mine she believes to be her rightful inheritance. Intrigue and violence bedevil the quest which ends in a desert under the Southern Cross. The wry, often laconic style gives full reign to the characters' latent sexuality.

An anjoyable and compelling read! The sexuality is convincing though at times a little startling -- like the stawberry scene at the end of volume two!
