About the Author
Becky L. Meadows is a writer/singer/actress in addition to an adjunct professor at Jefferson Community College in Louisville, Ky., and Ivy Tech State College in Madison, Ind. She is also up-and-coming new-country star "Foxx," and she and the Foxx band perform regularly in the Kentucky/Indiana/Tennessee area. She and the Foxx band are looking to cut their first CD by the end of 2002. She lives in Carrollton, Ky., with her husband, Larry Wilson."Being Foxx keeps me busy," she says, "but I wouldn't have it any other way in the world. I want to perform on stage until I can't breathe anymore." Phantom fans, be watching--she is also working on the third novel in this series--a sequel to "Progeny", the first Phantom of the Opera novel she had published, and "Phantasy", the second in the soon-to-be series.

Customer Reviews

This "Phantasy" disapoints this phan reader1
I had the fortunate chance to read this book before blindly purchasing it for the simple sake of having what might possibly be a gem in phantom fiction. Thank goodness I was spare the waste of money I would have spent on it. This story spirals into a chaotic mishmash of fantastical and unbelievable tale that left me annoyed that I had wasted my time reading it.
This sequel novel half-heartedly picks up where Becky L. Meadow's last book, "Progeny" left off. "Progeny" left the reader hanging, wondering what would happen to the characters, and this novel does not even begin to answer half the questions we were left with from the last book. Rather than picking up where we were left at the end of the last book, we are transported forward through time to a place where some of our previously favorite characters have become mere shadows of themselves.
Rather than being an entertaining novel, I found that this work was little more than the author's attempt to live out a dream that isn't possible; our dear Phantom is not likely to come looking for his beloved Christine reincarnated in the body of a phantom phan, but this book would have you believe otherwise.
The characters are poor imitations of how Meadows portrayed them in her first novel - rather than being interesting and having an added depth to them in their newly reincarnated state, they seem to have become dull-witted and inclined to argue tirelessly.
All in all, not worth the time to read, nor the money to purchase, unless you simply want to own it for the novelty.

Phantasy... more like Nightmare to me...1

If I had to meet Mrs. Beacky Meadows, let's just say it would NOT be the prettiest meeting in the world. After beeing a Phantom of the Opera fan for a VERY long time, I will now give my thoughts about this book.

1.) It's simple fan-fiction, only the author decided to be all "cool" and get it posted on a site where it allows you to post fan-fiction if you have the money.
2.) The grammar is dreadful! Honestly, I stumble across words I hardly know ever existed or "words that she invented".

Now, I am currently reviewing this book (I have no idea why), and I have to say I have almost reached the end and I am ready to demand for the countless I.Q points I have lost due to this book.

Catherine is the most STUPIDEST Christine EVER--in any fan fic, which this is. I don't care if she was Christine in a past life, she is still stupid. She whines, complains, she has sex, she wastes her money on Phantom of the Opera tickets, she is egotistical, she is everything BESIDES a Christine. I have no idea in BM's universe why Erik would love her.

And even if Ryan IS Raoul, why would he become so out of character context (hitting his wife at one point, coddling her next)? He seems to be half the time to be the only sane person in this novel. But then again, he is Raoul, and in BM's mind, Raoul is an evil bastard. So she had to do something to his morality.

Erik... now he is a ghost in this book. Anytime that he and Christine meet, there is always the one page description (which is TOTALLY un-needed) of what he is doing, what he is wearing, and how much Catherine likes him. Each time they meet, there cannot be a scene without him saying "my dear" over 12 times, or "child" over 20 times. Its as if BM based this solely on Webber's version (and I am sure she did) and to have Erik impersonate Michael Crawford and butcher anything he ever stood for... in her case, she thinks that she is making some odd homage to him.

This is not funny, I want to ask if she was drunk when writing this. I swear, half the book is smut and the other half is just her on "Phantom crack". There are times in this book where I'd be like "what?" and times when I'd be like "who?" There is so much Kay refrence in here that I just want to throw this book in the garabage. (I acknowledge Kay, but I don't like her "Phantom" book.)

When asked in an interview and in the "Dedicated to" part, she writes that "Erik helped me", or "This is dedicated to Erik". If that does not lead you into how stupid this book is, and you are still going to buy it--Phantom Fan or not--you are so sad.

Save your soul and perhaps your sanity by NOT reading this book. Read Progeny if you must, but DO NOT read this book. It's horrible. Actually, don't read Progeny either. That might just ruin any good Phantom of the Opera Fan-Fiction and what is left of the Webber version or Leroux version.

I gave it one star because I could not give her 0...

Down Once More....2
OK I loved her first book but this doesn't even resembel the Phantom to me.I'm not even half way done but I am all ready disapointed.Cathrine acts imature and Charles is a whiney bastard who says *Christ* too many damn times.Erik doesnt even remotly resembel himself.I wonder why she took extra care in changing Christine's and Raoul's name and not Erik's!
*Big let down for a sequel.Stick with the first one.*
