Product Description

"Life is too hectic to cook gourmet food every night.” “There are too many ingredients in the really great recipes.” “Eating healthy is too much work.” “If it doesn’t take a lot of effort, it won’t taste good.” These and many other misconceptions are proven wrong in Susie Quick’s Quick Simple Food, packed with 150 recipes sizzling with flavor, flair, and style—and without the hassle. These fresh, healthy dishes encompass the entire meal, from satisfying salads and amazingly quick pastas to nourishing stews and delicious desserts.

Quick Simple Food takes the path less traveled by quick-and-easy cookbooks and presents a world tour of sophisticated cuisine, from Latin America, Italy, and Greece to India, China, and Japan—and featuring a delectable array of updated American classics—while maintaining a focus on accessible ingredients and easy techniques.

And although nearly everything takes less than thirty minutes to prepare, this is more than mere daily sustenance—these recipes are for sophisticated diners who happen to be short on time, not just for can-opener cooks who happen to be hungry. The beautiful color photographs and the elegant design prove another myth wrong: quick and easy doesn’t have to mean dull and dowdy.

Quick, Smart, Scrumptious, Savvy, Stylish, and Sensible Food5
This book is amazing. It makes it possible for regular people to make not just quick but quick, smart, scrumptious, stylish, sensible food with savoir-faire. She totally debunks all that cook like a chef stuff--and I don't want to cook like a chef. I'm not a chef. I want to make fabulous dinners without spending my entire evening or life on them. All these recipes are easy, but with big deep flavors and no convenince foods. She's simplified everything for us--and I really appreciate that. And she has such good ideas, such a fine palate.I will use this book until I've cooked everything in it--and by then, I hope there will be another book from her. Thank you Susie!

Delicious, delightful, and best of all EASY!5
I must confess I'm a culinary klutz, but this book has given me a LOT more confidence in the kitchen! These recipes are super easy to follow, and the results look elegant and taste delicious. So far my favorites are the farfalle with zucchini and lemon-cream sauce and the ziti with garlic-roasted cauliflower -- but that's only because I haven't tried them all yet!

This book is terrific for someone who wants to eat well but doesn't have a lot of time to waste fussing around in the kitchen. I didn't spend more than a half hour on any of these dishes, and it's so satisfying to finally be able to impress family and friends with my cooking! It's also beautifully illustrated, so it'd make great gift book as well.

Quick Simple Food. It's all that. And more.5
Susie Quicks' new take on many of my favourite recipes is a welcome addition to my vast collection of cook books. I love to cook but am often pressed for time with a family including three teenage children.

Our family has lived between Paris, Sydney, London and New York for the past twenty years and are very keen on ethnic yet sophisticated foods. Susies' recipes are just that without cutting corners that can lead to less than successful results. Once you've tried the Turkish Meatloaf you'll know what I'm talking about.

The photographs are magnificent and the look of the book is sleek and modern. I'm inspired to try any of the recipes by just looking at those images.

Susie Quick is the best thing to happen to good food since Donna Hay.

Two thumbs up!
