GOOD LAB BOOK TO PRACTICE FOR MCSE Sims4
I'VE SPENT HOURS READING DOZENS OF STUDY GUIDES THAT PERTAIN TO THE MCSE. MSPRESS CONTAINS ERRORS IN THE LAB PORTION. FURTHERMORE, OTHER GUIDES LIKE SYBEX ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH VERY GOOD LABS.

I PREFER TO LEARN BY DOING AND SO FAR THIS BOOK COVERS A GREAT DEAL OF WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW HANDS ON FOR SIMULATION QUESTIONS ON THE MCSA/MCSE EXAMS. THIS BOOK IS PACKED WITH OVER 60 LABS AND AFTER JUST PASSING THE 70-291 EXAM NOT LONG AGO, I NOTICED A LOT OF THESE LABS CAN BE USEFUL FOR THE 70-293 AS WELL AS THE 291.
NOTE**I DID NOT BUY THE THOMSON STUDY GUIDE to Planning a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network
by BY BYRON WRITE, THAT COMPLIMENTS THIS LAB MANUAL.

THIS IS REALLY DESIGNED FOR A TEACHER/CLASSROOM BUT IT CAN BE USED TO PRACTICE ON YOUR HOME NETWORK AND OFFERS A TON OF GOOD EXERCISES.

THE LAB MANUAL IS PRETTY STRAIGHT FORWARD AND REQUIRES AT LEAST 2 COMPUTERS BOTH WITH 2 NICS.
IT STARTS OUT WITH RATHER EASY TO FOLLOW LABS BUT THEN GETS MORE ADVANCED AND WALKS YOU THROUGH CLEAR AND ACCURATE STEPS TO SETTING UP CLUSTERING, NLB, RECOVERY ETC;..WHAT I LIKE IS HOW IT EXTENDS THE IPSEC LABS BY SHOWING HOW TO CONFIG TRANSPORT MODE, TUNNEL MODE ETC;..
YOU SHOULD BUY THIS BOOK IF YOU FEEL YOU NEED MORE HANDS EXPERIENCE WITH SERVER 2003 AND A LOT LESS THEORY. A SMALL BONUS IS THE LABS ARE BACKED UP WITH SHORT QUESTIONS/ANSWERS TO REINFORCE WHAT YOU JUST LEARNED.

OVERALL, THIS IS A GOOD BUY CONSIDERING THERE IS A LACK OF QUALITY STUDY MATERIAL ON THE SHELF.
