A fun, entertaining book to read5
Synopsis: Maggie Clark is terrified of her neighbor Billy's vicious bulldog `Bullhead', because they bully her a lot. She requests her parents for a big, mean watchdog for her birthday to scare the bullies off. However, on her birthday, her parents give her a small puppy as a gift. Even though Maggie is disappointed at first, she soon grows fond of `Poocher', her pet dog. Soon, Maggie and her mother take Poocher to the Dog Clinic to give him his shots and train him, and leave him with the care of Dr. Miller. One week later, Maggie is surprised to find Poocher grown, and somewhat showing a dark side. Soon, strange things start happening. Maggie's childhood teddy bear Bilbo is torn to shreds. Poocher howls at the moon in a menacing way, and his eyes seem to glow red. Is Maggie imagining it, or has her pet turned into a monster? How will she be able to stop him from coming after her?

Review: I loved reading this book. It had humor, suspense, horror and most importantly, a good ending. Even though the story is slightly predictable at times, I was surprised to find a twist in the end. I liked the fact that Maggie and her brother Peter made up their differences and stuck together. Even though Poocher seemed vicious, I still felt sorry for him in the end.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed this book, I still don't understand why it's in the "Ghosts of Fear Street" book, when it had nothing to do with Ghosts or even Fear Street for that matter. In my opinion, it would have been more suitable as a Goosebumps book.

Nevertheless, this was a fun, entertaining book to read.

Cool!5
I love it when Poocher walks across the grass on his hind legs like a human! I also like it when Dr. Diller puts a dome on Maggie's head and changes her! Cool book! Read it!
