It's Rainbow Fish's most challenging adventure yet, for he must brave the Sea Monsters' Cave, rumored to be the most dangerous place in the ocean, to find healing algae to cure the ailing bumpy-backed fish. Warned by his friends about the dreadful denizens of the deep--the giant rock monsters, the five-eyed globe fish, and the horrible creature with a thousand arms--Rainbow Fish, accompanied by the little blue fish, musters all his courage and sets out on an exciting quest. In a satisfying and reassuring conclusion, Rainbow Fish discovers that by confronting his fears, it is possible to overcome them, and that sometimes there are simple, completely nonthreatening explanations for fabled dangers.

Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
Return of the Rainbow FishMarcus Pfister's famous fish stars in a crop of new titles. In the paper-over-board Rainbow Fish and the Sea Monsters' Cave by Pfister, the big blue fish and the little blue fish bravely enter "the most dangerous place in the entire ocean" to help cure an ailing "bumpy-backed fish" whose only hope is the red algae that grows on the other side of the sea monsters' hideout. Judiciously placed psychedelic scales on the aquatic creatures create a sense of movement (and glamour).

Afraid Of Noting
Bumby-backed fish was sick, and need red algae to get better. So Rainbow fish, and Blue fish decided that hey would venture into the monsters cave where the red algae was. They had to do it unless bumpy-back fish would die. As they traveled through, they say many scary things, but were too afraid to actually look at the scary things. The fish finally made it out and were able to get some red algae. On their way back they found out something very interesting. This is a pretty good story that tells a moral on now to be afraid of something just because you don't know what it is, like being afraid of the dark.
