Round 2 After twenty-five years in prison for murdering a couple of cheerleaders, a quarterback, and the class president, "Hackin'" Howard Rheinhart gets discharged. His case is assigned to Schlitz-drinking, Elvis-loving social worker and pro boxer Duffy Dombrowski. Soon, local high-school VIPs start showing up dead and Howard is nowhere to be found.
Duffy throws himself into Howard's defense while juggling a few problems of his own—like a huge upcoming boxing match, a new hormonal girlfriend, the unsolicited devotion of a goofy karate kid, and the ongoing misadventures of Allah-King, Duffy's Muslim basset hound.

Customer Reviews
Duffy Makes A Triumphant Return!
If you have not yet discovered this series, do yourself a favor, and do so now.
After he delivered a terrific debut with ON THE ROPES, I was anxiously looking forward to what Schreck would do for a follow-up. The answer: One of the most enjoyable reads of the year.
Duffy is a true original, and Schreck has populated the boxer/social worker/Elvis Fanatic's world with a cast of characters to match. The plot kept me turning pages, stopping only for a good laugh, of which there are many.
And while the author has done a marvelous job of building on the solid foundation he created in ON THE ROPES, it's entirely possible to enjoy TKO without having read the first book. But then again, why the heck would you not pick up both?
Basset Lovers Delight
This author really knows his hounds! Funny, clever and just the thing to keep you up all night laughing and wondering.....
Another Knockout
Schreck scores again. TKO is a mystery filled with laughs, action, bad basset hound manners, and heart. I read it in one sitting, and eagerly look forward to the next Duffy adventure.
If you like Spenser, Travis McGee, Stephanie Plum, or Elvis Cole, don't even hesitate---this is right your alley.
