Product Description

Quilt shop owner Dewey Pellicano intends to mix business with pleasure at the Sewing-by-the-Sea Symposium in Asilomar, California. But her plan is ruined by Mercedes Madsen, the militant conference organizer who acts more like a dictator than a director.

Now tangled up in a bundle of trouble, Dewey is facing a notorious "ghost," a mysterious missing woman, a stolen heirloom sewing box, and a mountain lion on the loose. . . and that's before she stumbles across the dead body. Armed only with blueprint fabric and her wits, Dewey must try to find a pattern in this crazy quilt of a murder mystery.

Praise for Terri Thayer's Old Maid's Puzzle:

"A near perfect cozy mystery."—Cozy Library

"Extremely well written, the book not only kept me turning pages, but had me nodding delightedly at the dead-aim Terri takes on the contemporary quilting world."—A Charmed Life, the blog of Quilting Arts features editor, Cate Prato

Great Read5
I enjoyed this segment of Dewey's life. I now have to wait until Terri Thayer writes the next installment. This is wonderful, I enjoyed each page.

Different than Previous Dewey Stores but it Works!4
Ocean Waves has a different feel than the two previous Dewey Pellicano books but it works. Dewey takes herself out of her element to attend a week-long quilting camp up the coast and once again stumbles upon murder.

Dewey feels out of her element away from her shop, friends and home and the new setting instills a similar feel in the reader. She is plagued with doubts about her abilities and on several occasions regrets leaving her comfort zone. Her unease is actually what allows her the growth and self-awareness she gains in this story.

This is not a good starting book for someone just picking up the series but I think taken in the frame the first two books created this third outing represent growth for the author and the main character. I would definitely recommend a reader start with Old Maid's Puzzle and move on to Wild Goose Chase before reading Ocean Waves so this book can be taken in the context it deserves.

It is a quick read and one that I enjoyed. I think Terri Thayer has created a good, honest character and a solid series.

Loved this third book in the series.4
I am a sucker for quilting stories. I have read her first two books. Even met the author at a quilt show. Enjoyed the story and looking forward to more.
