Product Description

No other sports car has had a run like Porsche’s, on the street or on the world's racetracks. On the eve of Porsche’s 60th anniversary, this richly illustrated volume tells the story of that fabled marque. Renowned automotive writer and photographer (and Porsche aficionado) Randy Leffingwell focuses his lens on each important model. His pictures, in-depth analyses of each car and its context, and interviews with key personnel comprise a complete, compelling, and often revealing history of the world’s premier name in sports cars.

Review
"If you have a Porsche book collection, or intend to someday, this is the one to ad. From racecars to production cars to future concepts, virtually everything is covered." - --Pat Enright, El Portal

"A must have for the Porsche lover for the holidays." --Andre Dufault, Bear Facts

"A richly illustrated book, Porsche Sixty Years, tells the story of this legendary marque which made its name on the streets and racetracks of the world and would make an ideal Christmas gift for any sports car fan." --David Hooper, Grimsby Telegraph

"But even if you can't tell a carburetor from a camshaft, Randy Leffingwell's Porsche Sixty Years from Motorbooks is worth a purchase (or at least a perusal at your favorite bookstore). The thorough tome features an incredible collection of images by Leffingwell, author of several books on the famed marque, as well as those from the archives (among them, of course, Ferdinand Porsche's Type 356, the first to bear his name). And while a book isn't quite as tempting as a 911, it's a little more recession-friendly." --- Jared Paul Stern, men.style.com

"In a single sitting with Porsche Sixty Years I read over 82 pages... the writing was that engaging. If you want the definitive history of Porsche, or a great gift for your Porsche nut, I can highly recommend this book as a great addition to your library!." --- David Witteried, Winding Roads

"It is the most complete Porsche coffee-table book available, and it is worth reading from cover to cover after you have looked at the pictures. If I could keep only one Porsche coffee-table book, this would be it." - --The Heat Exchanger

"Just released, Randy Leffingwell's chronology of Porsche's first 60 years is a must have book for every Porsche lover. The book would be worth the cover price for the photos alone but the text is a "vault of Porsche history with interviews of key personnel who made Porsche what it is today." --PCA Longhorn Region Roundup

"Photographs are the real standouts in this volume as expected from Mr. Leffingwell, the accompanying text are by no means mere captions but great pleasure can be derived from just looking at the pictures. ...buy it for the pictures but don't miss reading the stories." --Eric Chau, P4

"Porsche lovers are fortunate indeed to be able to add Mr. Leffingwell's new book to their library. Even avid Porschephiles will find something new in this well-researched work. Christmas is around the corner. Do your spouse a favor and tell him or her that you'd like Randy Leffingwell's book for Christmas." --- Ed Yuen, Sonne Porsche

"Randy Leffingwell is MBI's best selling author and a fantastic photographer. This is his fourth book on Porsches and is his tour de force. It is a celebration of Porsche's 60th anniversary..."a vault of Porsche history." The comprehensive work includes 296 photographs and 66 diagrams...a gallery of Leffingwell's personal portraits and many rare gems from the Porsche archives seen here for the first time. Randy also had an all- access pass that led to fascinating interviews with key Porsche personnel that contributed interesting anecdotes that help tell the complete Porsche story. "PORSCHE: Sixty Years" is a masterpiece. The book rates five of five lug nuts. Spectacular." --Gregg Leary, SPEEDTV.com

"This year marked 60 years of Porsche. Motorbooks.com published an incredible book honoring this magnificent feat for Porsche. Author Randy Leffingwell provides a very in depth and detailed history. Along with all the magnificent photos, there is some very informative reading. If you like coffee table books in your home and you want some really interesting Porsche history this book needs to be added to your collection." --Palmetto Pipes

"The access that Leffingwell had to Porsche's inside story makes all this a work you will want to own more than any other. The pictures run the gamut from racing action to carefully composed car-portraits, complete with hoar-frost and cobblestones. If you have no books on the history of Porsche in your collection, this is where to start. If you already have several such books, the "inside stories," the variety of pictures, and the reasonable pricing will make this book your next purchase."

Review
"With over 300 color photos and diagrams in 348 pages, this journal of Porsche history is lavishly illustrated. Leffingwell is a veteran photographer and author and this experience shows in his interviews with those who made Porsche a marquee of distinction.

Porsche history4
There are quite a few books out on Porsche. I have read several. This one is not as detailed as some but more detailed than others. For me, as a Porsche owner and PCA member, this is about the right level of examination. It covers both road cars and racing cars, and the photos are quite good. The text is very readable and the writing style is pleasant. An engineer would probably want more technical explanations. The only thing I found lacking was very little discussion of the LMP cars and no pictures of them. Also, no mention of the Panamera which although not out has been in development for several years.

Excelent5

A MUST HAVE5
