Editorial Reviews
From School Library Journal
Gr 5-8-In seven concise chapters, this clearly written book tells readers how to winnow the wheat from the chaff and find reliable information on the Internet. It defines jargon and points out abuses by some Web-page developers. It explains that "anyone can put anything on the Internet," reporting that as of October 2000, an estimated one billion Web pages were online. Spangenburg and Moser explain the research tools available while encouraging students to be ever skeptical, warning of propaganda, hoaxes, and other pitfalls. Black-and-white photos and an appealing layout enhance the text. The writing will be understood by those unfamiliar with Internet terms.
