Customer Reviews

Nice, but wish they had an "opera a day" version3
I rated this a 3 because it wasn't quite as good as it could have been. It's nice quality, with nice pictures, but I would have preferred that it include some factual information - maybe more of a trivia kind of thing, like the 'page a day' calendars. That being said, my 17 year old opera loving nephew thought it was great and was impressed that I was able to find ANY kind of opera calendar. (Yay for Amazon for at least having this one!)

DON'T BUY FROM AMAZON1
This review has nothing to do with this calendar which I'm sure is lovely but everything to do with Amazon's incredibly horrific service. I'd heard people say that Amazon was going downhill and I must say they are right.

I ordered this along with a book for a friend in Germany as a Christmas gift. I placed the order last month- it take's a month to get there despite paying over priced "expedited" shipping. When the poorly packaged box gets to Germany, the book arrives damaged and the calendar is missing. Oh and I'd asked for gift wrapping and it wasn't wrapped.

My friend of course is disapointed, so I call Amazon customer service where I am told that replacing the calendar is impossible- then the representative agrees but says my friend must first send back the damaged book at his expense so that Amazon can credit the entire order and charge and reship it all over again.

I tell my friend this and we decide to skip it. I decide to just order the calendar all over again rather than be bothered with Amazon's bizarre policy (when it was their error to begin with)- thinking I can just send it myself for much less money than Amazon will charge.

Much to my surprise, Amazon then takes it upon itself to charge me for ANOTHER calendar and charges me for top of the line shipping- nearly 60.00 added to the 65.00 I have already paid for one calendar that has yet to arrive in Germany!

I speak to yet another confused customer service rep (they don't know what they are doing and appear to be making up the rules as they go along)- after endless explanations (the customer is assumed to be wrong at Amazon), she agrees to credit me- for $20.00!

Amazon saw fit to go into my charge account and charge me for a second order I never placed and as of now still refuses to credit me the fill ammount. I am out of a weeks worth of grocery money due to their stupidity and don't know whether to pursue any further or risk them charging me yet again as no one at Amazon seems to know what they are doing.

Bottom line- I am avoiding Amazon after being a loyal customer for a decade and I am now taking my business to Deep Discount.

Order from Amazon at your own risk.
