Blue Dog: The Art of George Rodrigue:2010 Engagement Calendar5
For the second year in a row, this calendar has been chosen as a gift for my daughter's birthday, which is January 1st.

It is the perfect way to begin each year on her birthday. She was born in New Orleans, LA, on January 1st, 1969. At that time, I was director of an art gallery in the French Quarter. When I began there, a few of Rodrigue's paintings remained in the gallery while he was moving to another gallery on Royal Street. That is how I became acquainted with his work.

After we moved to Texas in 1975,and many years have passed, the subjects, colors, and compositions changed from very dark bayou scenes with trees covered with hanging moss to bright cheerful paintings, and Blue Dog began to appear.

My daughter's friend went to Mardi Gras in 2000 and brought me the Jazz and Heritage poster for that year---Al Hirt and Blue Dog---two great symbols of the years we lived in Louisiana.

It is framed and hangs in a prominent place in my home. My daughter loves animals and especially Blue Dog with his humorous titles each day, and...dog "smile."

Each year for her birthday, she can look forward to a new tradition: The Blue Dog Calendar.

Love it5
Knew I'd love it; after all, it's George Rodrigue. This engagement calendar lays flat because of the spiral binding, and I love that as well.
Would buy again. Bought two; one for a gift.

Wonderful, Colorful Calendar :-)5
These are wonderful, happy, colorful calendars - I've ordered them for five years now,
and as long as Rodrigue keeps doing them, I'll buy one every year!! Excellent quality,
layout - and the art is WONDERFUL!! :-)
