Amazon.com Review
The trend for indulging in good-smelling, body-pampering natural beauty products isn't just for grownups. With this dynamic little book, young girls can satisfy their burgeoning obsession with cosmetics while expressing their creativity and saving money, too. With such grocery store ingredients as apple cider vinegar, yogurt, honey, lemon juice, oats, and herbal teas and a trip to the pharmacy or health-food shop for essential oils, aloe vera juice, and glycerin, kids can whip up toners, moisturizers, masks, soaps, body wraps, hand and foot emollients, hair treatments, and other goodies to soothe body and spirit. There are also ideas for nifty hairdos, glitzy manicures, and at-home spa days. Then after they've concocted and primped, they can relax with fruit smoothies and spritzers. Excellent directions mean that young readers will succeed even with minimal parental help, and cool graphics further the kid appeal. In the words of this reviewer's 10-year-old daughter, "There are so many great things in this book, I don't know what to do first!"--Amy Handy

I was given the Crafty Girl Beauty book for Christmas. Since then, I have used it so much. I bring it to slumber parties, and it is a HUGE hit. I strongly disagree with the suggested age group. It is great for teens. I have friends who are quite a bit older than I am. My two friends,...are fourteen and fifteen and they love my book. When they invite me over, they always tell me to remember Crafty Girl Beauty. I told you how my friends all love it, but best of all, I love it.

Crafty Girl shows you how to make everything. My favortie part is the WONDERFUL illustrations. They are stylish and modern, and very cute. I am happy to say I have tried all of the recipes not one was unsatisfactory. If you are into arts and crafts, makeup and body care, you have gotto purchase this book. It will be one of the best things that ever happened to you!

I just recently bought this book and haven't had much time to try a lot of stuff in it just yet, but those that I have tried have proved to be very cool. this book offers such nifty ideas that I never would have thought of trying on my own. who knew you could make your own lotion or facial astringent?? wow. The step by step instructions are incredibly easy to follow and it even includes info on where to get your ingredients. There are also clever ideas for "spa days" and different drinks you could sip while you're relaxing in the tub. : )

Great book..not just for pre-teens and teens!5
A friend bought me this book as a gift and I LOVE IT! Of course, not until now (while reading the online reviews for it) did it click that the book is for pre-teens and teens. Well guess what... This mid-twenties crafy girl loves it just as much! It's super fun, and the "recipes" range from easy to hard. They are great for "spa nights" with girlfriends or if you're at home alone and want to do something fun and relaxing. If I'm cooking and only have to use one part of an egg for the recipe, I can use the other half for either my skin or hair (egg white=face mask, egg yolk=hair conditioner). So, if you're a crafty girl yourself or are looking for a gift for a girly crafty girl, I'd highly reccomend this book.
