This survey of architecture in Spain in the years 19491970 features essays by Anton Capitel and editor Sola-Morales that focus on the conflicting trends and schools of thought among Spanish architects. Capitel maintains that the influences of the International Style as well as organic and vernacular fashions were experienced simultaneously in Spain. Sola-Morales concentrates on the history of modernist ideas, stating that the montage of Spanish architecture results from a need to articulate self-critical views. Strikingly illustrated.
