Customer Reviews

Piero della Francesca3
Often art historians are very knowledgable about their subject, but their ability to write borders on incompitence. This book is horribly written, and the preface is really just a joke. In attempts to sound erudite and profound the authors often sound foolish. The text abounds with pretentious diction and creates quagmires out of simple subjects. It's simply bad writing. "The Masterpieces" section isn't so bad and is perhaps the only redeeming part in the text. The illustrations are very good though, and just for them the book is worth the ten dollars. It's a nice introduction to the artist.
