Magnificent collection of on-the-scene fashion photos from the first half of the 20th century
This is quite simply one of the best fashion books I've ever seen. The numerous B&W photographs show ladies wearing the high fashion of circa 1900 through 1950 not in static studio poses or on the runway, but strutting their stuff at the big social events of the day; most of the 1900's and 1910's photos, indeed, were taken at swanky race meets at Paris' famous Auteuil horse racetrack. The book is long out of print and very expensive to purchase, but is an absolute must-have for Edwardian/World War I, 1920's, 1930's, 1940's and New Look fashion fans.
