Love this Slow Cooker Book!!5
I first saw this book on a co-worker's desk, looked through it and had to have one of my own. Another co-worker saw the book and had to have one, too, so I ordered not just one but two and we are all enjoying the recipes! They are easy to follow and the pictures are great, too. Thanks for having this book online at Amazon.com for such a great price!!

Best Cookbook Ever5
I bought this cookbook- Taste of Home: The New Slow Cooker- for my daughter for Christmas 2009. I gave it to her Christmas morning but she never got to take it home until April when I purchased one for myself from Amazon. Each recipe has a picture of what it should look like with very clear directions and a note from the person who submitted the recipe. I have tried most all of them and they all turned out great and my family loved them. My daughter that the cook book was for didn't seem to mind as she got to come over every weekend and try the recipes from her cookbook. My goal is to try all of the recipes, I highly recommend this book. Jan F.

Good book4
I was a bit worried when going through the beef chapter - all the recipes in that chapter have something like 1/2lb of meat or more per suggested serving. Luckily things turned around when it got to the poultry and fish sections. Deserts in this book are simply amazing!

I strongly recommend anyone looking to make better use of their slow cooker check this book out.

Cons: All measurements are imperial only. Many recipes call for far more meat than any healthy person should be eating. Alternatives are rarely discussed. Often, the crock pot size (which can be important) is not specified. Many of the poultry measurements are imprecise, "4 chicken breasts," for instance tells nothing of the desired chicken breast size or thickness.

Pros: Recipes are high quality and delicious. Cooking times are accurate, and food prep should be followable by almost any cook.

Note: In almost all the beef recipes you can substitute red or black beans for some portion of the meat and it will taste fine and be less horrible to eat. The same for chickpeas for game recipies game.
