Editorial Reviews
Review
"This is a 'how-to' manual on raising crayfish in a small country setting. Wilson is a clear, informative writer." -- 'BACKWOODS HOME MAGAZINE' by Dave Duffy, editor
"This is a small but useful book..a bare bones 'how-to' manual on how to raise crayfish in a small country setting. Wilson is a clear, informative writer, and this book is in that vein..short and to the point. No fluff. I like it a lot." --Dave Duffy, editor 'BACKWOODS HOME MAGAZINE'
This book offers inexpensive and detailed information on the possibilities of raising crayfish for food and profit on a small acreage. This booklet packs the information you will need into a tiny price. --Reviews by Ron Macher, Small Farm Today 'Good Books'
Customer Reviews
This is an excellent source of information.
This is an excellent source of information for people who want to start a crayfish farming business. It covers all aspects, including pond and tank culture, sexing, feeding requirements, and sources for crayfish.
Overpriced, poorly published
This "book", while it does have some good information on crayfish farming, isn't a good value. It's 50 pages, 8"x5", cheaply printed, with varying fonts, smears, poor graphics, and haphazard layout. Some sections are nothing more than a collection of sentences pasted together from other sources. At the most, I'd call this a booklet.
There are also several pages containing nothing but a recipe for crayfish. I don't think recipes belong in this book, especially when they seem to be just page fillers.
I gave this booklet three stars because it does give some decent information on food, moulting stages, water pH, etc. But information available free on the Internet will tell you just as much, without the $11 plus postage price.
Good Info, Poor graphics
The information contained in this booklet is good, but i would like it more if it had a little more graphics to ilustrate with more detail how to build the infraestructure needed to start an operation as well as a checklist of the materials and equipment needed, but in general i would say the booklet is good.
