Silent Weapon: The Embargo Against Iraq reveals the true suffering of the people of Iraq caused by the United Nations-imposed embargo. The Iraq embargo is being used as part of an overall strategy to control the people and resources of the Middle East. The United States-led blockade of basic necessities for the sustenance of human life in Iraq has been directly responsible for families living and dying daily in unimaginable desperation. The desire for the US government to contain the regime of Saddam Hussein and maintain control over oil in the Middle East drives a policy that considers the impoverishment, disease, and death of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis to be an acceptable price to pay. Silent Weapon: The Embargo Against Iraq video critically examines the increasingly common US practice of imposing sanctions as a method of achieving international objectives. The goal of this video project is to awaken grassroots America to the ethical question of sanctions.
Do we, as responsible citizens, condone our governments future use of this starvation/disease strategy against millions of civilians in another country? Hopefully, we will begin to live as residents of a global community.

One of the Most Compelling Videos I Have Ever Seen!
Silent Weapon: The Embargo Against Iraq truly changed my viewpoint of the US sanctions in Irag. The video does an astounding job of portraying the absolute facts without the filter of a political agenda. The Institute for Development Training (www.idtonline.org) recently updated this video and have included an amazing amount of first hand accounts and comments from leading experts in the field. This video is an excellent tool to educate yourself, your circle of friends, your church, or your community on the reality of the sanctions against Iraq.
