Product Description

W. A. Heisler returns to his horror-genre roots, resurrecting his character, Arandavius, It begins with a frantic phone call from Eric Parkins, a parishioner of Father Brian Halloway's Church, who is desperate to find answers to his wife's strange behavior following the death of her mother.

It seems to Halloway that the woman is simply having difficulty coping with her grief, and nothing seems out of the ordinary… Until he is told about the "thing" in the basement… And how Sylvia changes after nightfall. It is then, the priest begins to worry.

After witnessing Sylvia's disturbing and violent behavior for himself, Halloway comes to the conclusion that something has gone horribly wrong at 1312 Lafayette Drive.

Fearing for the safety of the couple, Halloway enlists the help of his longtime friend and fellow priest Father Michael Constantine, a priest chosen to fight the deadliest of wars, and the keeper of New York Dioceses' darkest secret. It is then the dark war begins.

Constantine, joined by Father James Connelly, a young priest eager to prove himself to his mentor, along with Halloway, Sylvia's husband, and her brother, Mark Barnett, a doctor who is hiding his own dangerous secret set out to engage the invading entity.

The men quickly come face to face with a savage, brutal being that snakes its way into the darkest depths of their psyches in its unyielding and vicious attempts to destroy them and all who participate in its "game."

Enter Arandavius, a dark, tragic figure, fallen with Lucifer after The Great War. A fallen angel who walks the earth and claims his mission is to send the demon back to its "Realm." A being Constantine knows has held one title since his expulsion… Arandavius: The Overlord of Legion.

Constantine finds himself trying to save a woman who is now caught in the middle of a vicious game of cat-and-mouse between two demons-one, a brutal, sadistic being who holds the life and soul of its victim in its clutches-the other, the most savage and merciless of Legion's warriors.

A game both beings are willing to play out to its explosive and bloody end.

Welcome to darkness… Welcome…to the game.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
W. A. Heisler, author of the heart-warming and inspiring An American Christmas and the comic and, at times, heart-wrenching Santa's Little Helpers, showcases his versatility as a writer with his new work Salvation.

Salvation is a work of dark horror. It, in the author's words, was written with, "No punches pulled."

A book written in Heisler's trademark high-velocity style, and filled with rich characterizations, Salvation is destined to stand as his best work yet.

From the Author
Arandavius and I have been partners in crime since his birth in the short-story Salvation, written in 1990. We've had a love-hate relationship ever since.

When I decided to expand the original seventeen-page short story into a novel, I had to admit I was worried. Salvation already had a beginning, a middle, and an end. How do you expand on that?

Somewhere along the line, Arandavius decided he wanted to come out and play and nearly four hundred and fifty pages later, I was sitting in front of my computer staring at something that I never thought I would see.

Salvation was now more than a little ditty. It was something explosive. My favorite son had turned into something magnificent.

From 1990 to 1992, Arandavius had three stories altogether. After the last one, he disappeared, along with the inspiration to write any more stories chronicling his journey.

In 2005, Arandavius returned . . . I invite you all along for the ride. It's time to finish the game.

About the Author
W. A. Heisler was born, raised, and has lived most of his life in the Tacony section of Philadelphia. He now lives just outside the city's limits.

This book scared me to death!5
W A Heisler has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This book is a great read. It kept me in suspense and on constant guard of my surroundings while I read it. I highly recommend it!

scared shitless5
move over dean koontz, stephen king, peter straub. there's one new scary mother in town. i read this book in record time. characters will forever be memorable. arandavius is impressive, i do not want to ever meet him in a dark or well lit place, but i definitely want him in my corner in the event that i would have to need him. i will also say that one night when i finished reading, i kept the lights on all the way to bed, if i wasn't a mature, fairly rational adult, i would have looked under the bed. awesome book. loved it, can't wait for the next book.

I'M A READER NOT A WRITER5
PLEASE FORGIVE MY WRITING BUT ALL I CAN SAY IS "WOW", I STARTED THIS BOOK DURING THE DAY AND WAS AFRAID TO GO DOWN THE BASEMENT! AS IT GOT DARKER SO DID MY IMAGINATION, SO I DIDN'T MOVE WITHOUT MY DOG BESIDE ME. I HAVEN'T BEEN AFRAID TO SLEEP WITHOUT A LIGHT ON SINCE THE "EXORCIST", BUT MY ELECTRIC BILL IS DOING DOUBLE TIME! I CANNOT WAIT FOR A SEQUEL, I'M HOPING THERE IS GOING TO BE ONE. I LOVE THE WRITERS STYLE AND I KNOW THIS IS GOING TO BE AN AUTHOR TO LOOK FOR ON THE BEST SELLERS LIST! GLAD I GOT THIS BOOK AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT, IT WAS VERY GOOD.
