A California photographer and a Tennessee poet collaborated to produce this remarkable book of photographs and poems reflecting Vietnam as it appears today with a population nearing 83 million people, more than half of whom are under the age of thirty. Windows to Vietnam, a 178 page book of over 140 photographs and 30 related poems released in July, 2007, emphasizes a vigorous economy in a small Asian country aptly named "Land of the Ascending Dragon." This collection of photographs and contemporary verse addresses the culture, diversity, and dramatic financial and lifestyle changes among the Vietnamese people. A Kentucky Fried Chicken fast-food franchise found on a key intersection in Ho Chi Minh City is a telling picture. Since the mid-eighties, the economy has grown by billions of dollars due to exported products such as crude oil, coffee, rice, seafood, textiles and footwear. Vietnam, a small and independent country, remains under the banner of a single-party socialist republic, but its business style is moving quickly toward western capitalism with a developing free-trade philosophy. Thousands of tourists are discovering the tropical beauty of mountain, coastal and rural scenery, as well as shrines, palaces and villages with the preserved traditions and variety of religions celebrated by Vietnamese people.

Outstanding
I spent one month in Viêt Nam last year and although I shot more than 1800 pictures, may I say this is a wonderful and marvelleous book which has remembered me all my journeys. I recommend it to everybody who wishes to visit this amazing country.
I fell in love with Viêt Nam and their people. This is a different book; you have beautiful photographs far away from the ones you usually see in any publication shot by Scott Charles Clarkson; you read poems with a very special sensitivity written by Veita Jo Hampton and the Foreword written by Mark A. Ashwill is a must, before you start looking and reading the book.
Window to Vietnam
More than simply a work of art or collection of jewels, "Window to Vietnam" is an equisite experience. It combines visual delight with intangible imagery to render a deep understanding of a multi-dimensional country... its past, present and the marvelous confluence of both. This book is a "coffee table must!" But don't be surprised to find yourself taking it to bed.
