Book Description
"The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" is one of F. Scott Fitzgerald's most memorable short stories. The protagonist, Benjamin Button, is born an old man and ages in reverse until he becomes a baby and then finally vanishes from the earth. In a short introduction to the story, Fitzgerald wrote: "This story was inspired by a remark of Mark Twain's to the effect that it was a pity that the best part of life came at the beginning and the worst part at the end. By trying the experiment upon only one man in a perfectly normal world I have scarcely given his idea a fair trial. Several weeks after completing it, I discovered an almost identical plot in Samuel Butler's 'Note-books.'" The title story was the inspiration for the MAJOR MOTION PICTURE of the same name and remains one of Fitzgerald's most haunting and beautiful tales.
Fitzgerald's talent for short fiction is on display in this selection of four of his finest tales, chosen from two collections: Flappers and Philosophers (1920) and Tales of the Jazz Age (1922). In addition to the title story are "Bernice Bobs Her Hair," a coming-of-age story about a daring young flapper; "The Jelly-Bean," a story of disillusionment and love lost; and "Dalyrimple Goes Wrong," a case of a character torn between self and society.

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON AND MORE
I picked up this book at my local library to read, since I wanted to read the story, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button before seeing the movie starring Brad Pitt. The story is great and worth reading. It is only 20+ pages, but really interesting. I recommend you read this story before seeing the movie. I saw the movie yesterday, and highly recommend the movie. The movie has taken some liberties from the book, but still excellent. Movies are always different from the book. The book is full of other great stories too.
I gave the book to my 19 year old son to read the Benjamin Button story, and he enjoyed it too. We went to the movie together, and both enjoyed the movie. It was a nice mother/son date. I am an avid reader, but my son normally only reads for school or Harry Potter books, so it was nice that he enjoyed this story too, and wanted to see the movie with his mother. Pick up the book and share it with your family, you might be surprised how much they enjoy reading it too.
Aging Backwards through Time
The collection of short stories by F. Scott Fitzgerald are very enjoyable. I confess that THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON was what drew me in to buying the short stories but I enjoyed every story. My personal favorite was BEATRICE BOBS HER HAIR. Very well written stories. It's a pity the movie version of Button was nothing like the story.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Had seen the movie, which was excellent, and had to read the short story. Very interesting!
