Product Description

I don't normally care about clothes, but when my friend Charlie Adams's sister Alicia opened a boutique right here in River Heights, of course I wanted to be at the opening.

Turns out it was a pretty popular event. Way more people than expected showed up, and then the store window was smashed, and people were injured! Later I found out that Alicia's most expensive dress was destroyed and her store had been vandalized.

Sounds like more than one-day-sale damage to me. I may not be a fashion expert, but this is one case I'm ready to size up.

From AudioFile
Nancy investigates a break-in at a fashion boutique in River Heights with the help of friends George, Bess, and Ned. Although Rebecca Rogers has a lovely lilting voice, one is at times confused as to who is speaking. Further, aspects of this production, which updates the series, can be jarring for earlier generations of readers. The new Nancy breaks into an apartment and hacks into a computer! On the package she is a young tween-ager yet Rogerss Nancy sounds older and has friends in college. Boyfriend Ned sounds slightly condescending and too sultry. The audience for this listening experience would typically be younger than its story or delivery allows. DRESSED TO STEAL lacks the wonderful campiness that makes Nancy Drew appealing to generations. poor read1
Nancy Drew has no morals! She picks locks, breaks into another person's appartment and computer. She looks down on people and lies freely. I am very dissapointed with the character and the plot. The older Nancy Drew stories are much more what I would like to hold up to my children as having a good heroin.
