Excellent Data5
We are using "Complete GED Perparation" in our free GED preparation classes because they are easy to use as a text book. 1. The introductory exams are not too long and give the information on the needs of each student. 2. Answers to the intro exams are given with explanation that will help the student. Normally no more explanations are needed. 3. If more information is needed, the text for each subject is easy to understand. 4. A sample exam is toward the back of the book that will allow the student to practice on an exam that will simulate the real thing. >All in all, I cannot conceive a better arranged or more concise source for GED preparation.

Classroom Favorite4
I use the Steck-Vaughn Complete GED Preparation book almost exclusively in my GED class. I find the lessons comprehensive yet concise enough to be used in my 16 week course. Since I need to cover so much ground in a short period of time, this workbook fits my lesson plans nicely and prompts discussions that expand the learning experience. Also, the choice of content in each subject section is relevant to what the student will need to actually pass all 5 GED tests. I have had great success with this text. Last class I had 6 students out of 9 go on to get their GED diploma. One has entered college; another has received a job promotion; yet another a job change that has allowed him health and dental coverage and all have expanded their ability to make choices in life and live with dignity.

Not Totally New3
This book should prepare one for the NEW GED, but the book itself is NOT totally new. The greatest changes are in the areas of math and writing, but even these pages are largely a repeat of Steck-Vaughn's old book aimed at preparing one for the l988 edition of the GED.Most of the publisher's hype about the book are unfounded. It, for example, is clearly not the biggest GED book available, despite that claim on the cover. And it most certainly is NOT the best. If you buy individual study guides for each subject, then you don't need this book. It is just a condensed reprint of the others.
