Trey Porter and his friends have been chased from their campsite by bullies, and are searching for a new one. One that's absolutely bully-proof. They decide on the legendary fort of Widow Hill, a Revolutionary War relic hidden deep in the forests of Fairfield.
The path to the fort is not an easy one, however, as someone or something is trying to stop them any way it can.
A dark secret awaits Trey Porter. A secret guarded for over two hundred years and desired by every dark creature that lurks in the forest.
Trey promises not to reveal the secret. . . over his dead body.

Editorial Reviews
From AudioFile
While setting up a campsite, 12-year-old Trey and his friends must flee to a ruined fort on Widow Hill to escape an attack by four school bullies. An abundance of plot twists and betrayals catch Trey by surprise as the characters pursue a glowing, swirling sphere of power unleashed in the struggle. Among the many special sound effects are the snuffling of scaly woods lizards and the hollow voices of a villainous pirate and a heroic skeleton. A narrator with a husky voice and a full cast of readers present this fast-paced adaptation of a suspenseful horror story. Occasionally, though, the sound effects and voices sound amateur, making this action-packed story funny in places rather than scary. Customer Reviews
I thought this book was interesting and very well written.
I thought this book was intersting and very well written. I was so absorbed in this book I did not want to put it down. It was exciting from the very beginning to the last few words at the end. Johnny Ray Barnes described everything so vividly. I highly recommend this book to any reader who likes Strange Matter.
