Kid-Tested Recipes -
You know a compiler of recipes has courage when she tries them first on her own family. As it says in her dedication, that's exactly what this Author and Cook did!
The book begins with a recipe for Homemade Yogurt - just in case you didn't have your own before you purchased this book. In the back, it gives recommendations for Yogurt Makers as well as instructions for making Yogurt Cheese and recommendations on efficient cheese makers.
I have already made several of the recipes and am impressed by how she makes sure the recipes adapted to yogurt taste at least as good as those made with other more fattening and less healthy products. Best of all, a significant majority of the recipes are items that I would actually make and eat.
While I haven't made ALL of the recipes, I already have a favorite - "Corn Bread in a Jiffy." Even my husband (not one who likes yogurt OR cornbread) loved this recipe! I am making it for the next potluck along with the Tortilla Wheels (recipe available by searching inside the book here on Amazon).
Why only four stars? Some of her recipes include a product called "Ultra Gel" which I am unable to purchase locally. In most cases, no substitute was given, meaning I am unable to use those specific recipes.
FYI - she is also the author of Make It With Yogurt! now out of print.
