Microsoft Office 2007
Very good book. It explains everything you need to know about access and word. It explains everything word for word for you.
Great for ALL skill levels.
I am an older college student (28). I have worked in the IT field for 10 years. (I never bothered to finish my degree before, I just didn't need to.) This book just my be the BEST technical book I have ever worked with. This book would work well for someone who is familiar with a previous version of office and only needs to become familiar with the new layout and features (2007 is a complete layout redesign from previous versions of office), to someone who can barely turn on a computer and needs to learn how to use office for a new job. It won't make you an expert but it should get you to a high intermediate level.
Why is it so good?
In the Tutorials, the left page has all the directions and the opposing page shows pictures pointing out everything they talk about.
Clear one or two sentence step by step directions in bold black letters. Keywords highlighted in a dark green (so it stands out, but is not distracting to your eye). More detailed information below each instruction clarifies any questions remaining in a users mind.
It makes the book invaluable for those who have no clue or just need to brush up a little. I fall into the latter and fly though it while getting the skills that I needed to relearn/remember/refresh. When finished, I intend to loan this to my older family members who need to raise their computer literacy.
