Wonderful Memoir!4
I'm just in the process of reading Ursula Thiess' wonderful autobiography (almost half way through and will finish it tomorrow) and being a German from Hamburg myself I was very touched with her description of Hamburg during WW II.
The chapter on India was very impressive and I won't forget the many details she described in that chapter for a long time.
Her writing style is very eloquent although sometimes I have to look up words (which I was not forced to do while reading books in English over the past 3 years), but it's always good to learn new terms :).
My only complaint: why are there so very few photos? And basically no pics from her childhood and teenager years. But I assume those pics all became a victim of the fire storm in Hamburg.
My suggestion for the 2nd edition of this book: add more photos, please!

Hard lessons from Hollywood4
Urusla paints a sad picture of Robert Taylor's long fight with cancer and the surprising hardships of filming on location around the world. Her children's successes and failures are laid out for us. Her next husband also died of medical problems with Ursula in the nursing role again. She had a major surgery but it was very successful. Their Hollywood friends, especially the Reagans, are talked about. Her WW II experiences in Germany were harsh. I read the entire book in two days because I was so interested in her children's lives.

A compelling story of a strong and beautiful woman4
I enjoyed this book very much. I enjoyed the authors candor about her life story. What a harrowing and incredible journey she has experienced throughout her life. I would recommend this book to my friends and have done so already.
